1930 Born in Tokyo on December 17. 1952 Graduated from the School of Composition, Tokyo Academy of Music (now, the School of Music, Tokyo University of Fine Arts). Studied composition with TomojiTo Ikenouchi and Saburo Moroi, own father. 1953 Awarded the Seventh Prize at the Queen Elizabeth International Contest. Won the First Prize at the NHK Orchestral Works Contest. Won the Art Festival Award at the Ministry of Education Art Festival. Honorable mention at the 27th ISCM International Music Festival in Oslo. 1955 Honorable mention at the 29th ISCM International Music Festival in Baden-Baden. 1958 Honorable mention at the 32nd ISCM International Music Festival in Strassbourg. 1964 Won the Odaka Prize. 1965 Won the 17th Italian Award. 1966 Won the Minister of Education Incentive Award at the Art Festival. 1967 Won the Music Critics Club Award (Osaka) for "Five Pieces for Shakuhachi, CHIKURAI." 1970 Berlin Philharmonic performed the composer's Piano Concerto (January 1 0) at the orchestra's regular concert.
