Shibuya Reiro (Shibuya Teiji) was born on March 1, 1898 in Tokyo. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Miura Kindō, Yamaguchi Shirō, Aoki Reibo I, and Narita Shōei. He started teaching in 1918. He was the head of the Rero-kai.
