菊岡 検校
1791 - 1849
Composer
Obtained the rank of kengyō at the age of only 15. According to an anecdote, Kikuoka's connection with Yaezaki Kengyō was that Kikuoka, who was the first to go to the school, gave Yaezaki leftover food, but Yaezaki, who had a grudge against this. At that time he performed with Kikuoka, he played the koto brilliantly and played with the immaturity of Kikuoka's shamisen. Kikuoka was ashamed of his immaturity and made efforts, and in the next performance, he played with exquisite hands, and Yaezaki also joined hands freely with defeat, while recognizing each other's abilities. It is said that he deepened his friendship.
