Ikeda Kōdō (Ikeda Saburō) was born March 18, 1904 in Shimane Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Araki Kodō III and began teaching in 1929. He was the head of the Hakuro-kai and Tanashi Sankyoku Kyōkai, and executive of the Doso-kai. He had branch offices at the Air Self-Defense Force Iruma Base and Henryūji Temple.
