A blind musician from the Edo period. In 1696 he became a kengyō officer under the guidance of Imai Kengyō Shoichi, and in 1705, he became the best seven elders in his position at that time. He learned sokyoku at Kitajima Kengyō Shiroharu and passed it on to Yoneyama Kengyō Tsumaichi and Kurahashi Kengyō Shunseuichi, the tradition was called Ikuta style.
