Kaneyasu Tōdō
兼安洞童

Shakuhachi
Born January 8, 1894 in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Studied Kinko-ryū repertoire under Inoue Shigemi. Began teaching in 1918. In 1928 Kaneyasu established his own Kinko-ryū school, the Nihon Chiku-dō Gakkan. Affiliations include: secretary of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai, trustee of the Kinko-ryū Kyōkai, and advisor to the Sō Meian Gakukai. Passed away on June 22, 1981.
