Shakuhachi
Born in Yamagata Prefecture on September 29, 1900, Kawachi Rinkō (Kawachi Sukekichi) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Murase Chikuga and Aoki Reibo I. He received his Shihan (master teaching license) in 1925 and opened his door to students. During his 50-year career as a performer and teacher, he was the leader of the Rinkō-kai and a councilor of the Japan Sankyoku Association. He lived in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo.
