Born January 8, 1939 in Kitakyushu City, Nakamura Seikiyō (Nakamura Ryosuke) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Maeda Shunpū and Nakamura Seiki. He started teaching in 1961. He was a member of the Bifū-kai Kitakyushu branch. He was a director of the Kokura Sankyoku Association and the Kitakyushu Sankyoku Association.
